Kenora and District Chamber of Commerce Launches its Choose Local First! Campaign
Kenora, September 10, 2021– The Kenora and District Chamber of Commerce (“KDCC”) is pleased to announce the launch of its Choose Local First! campaign to strengthen the local economy in the communities and encourage area residents and visitors to choose local businesses as the COVID restrictions continue to ease.
KDCC was recently awarded $98,000 to develop a campaign to reinvigorate business in the area, not only for Kenora but many of the other centres such as Dryden, Red Lake, Sioux Lookout, Fort Frances and the smaller communities in between. Choosing to purchase locally means the revenue will stay in Kenora and support our businesses and the communities we live in to keep thriving.
Development of the program will involve local vendors to create website design, digital marketing, radio, and social media advertising and promotion programs. This will also include video production to emphasize the need to shop in our area.
KDCC President, Andy Scribilo states “It’s been a tough 18 months for many of the local business under the COVID restrictions. Now that COVID restrictions are easing we want to encourage area residents and visitors to do their shopping here FIRST in the area BEFORE looking to the major centres or online for products and services. Kenora businesses have a lot to offer and are able and willing to provide the goods and services you need. Take another look at what we have to offer and Choose Local First!”
The campaign will run from October 18th, 2021, until January 16th, 2022, and is expected to be a main theme for the remainder of 2021 and well into 2022.
